Revolutionary New Products
Trends in leisure are constantly changing. We continuously review and evolve our health and fitness offering to keep our communities active and inspired to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Information below relates to two key health and fitness areas that we have been developing to ensure we provide something for everyone.
We have developed a revolutionary, low-cost introductory membership range called ‘Into:Active’. We are excited to say that this is being rolled out across our leisure centres from the 13th January 2020.
Our collection of Into:Active memberships have been designed specifically for people who are new to or returning to exercise and aim to make individuals feel more comfortable and confident about getting active.
Our Into:Active memberships are here to help anyone find the place they’re into:
- Into:Swim is a 6 week introductory swim membership, including free access to SWIMTAG to track participation levels and progress. Into:Swim will begin with a 15-20 minute consultation with an Into:Active coach who will explain how to get the most out of the membership and active their personal goals. This will be followed by additional consultations in the 2nd week to monitor progress and in the 6th week to gain feedback from the individuals and talk about our other memberships that are available, to enable them to continue on their fitness journey.
- Into:Fitness is a 12 week membership providing access to all the benefits of our Premium Membership but with 15-minute contact points at weeks 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 and 12 with an Into:Active coach. The contact points help new members receive the best possible experience as we can learn about their personal goals and objectives, as well as getting exposed to everything we offer and receiving the behavioural support they need for a successful start to an active lifestyle.
- Into:More provides access to up to four 1-hour sessions across all leisure centre areas which include the Gym, Group Cycling, Group Workout and Pool for £20. All four sessions must be pre-booked and completed within 4-6 weeks of registering. For those new to exercise, Into:More is a great way to sample a range of activities within a supportive and social environment.
E-Learning modules are now available on My Learning Place. We recommend that all colleagues complete Into:Active Course One. There are then additional, more in-depth courses for colleagues who will be promoting and delivering the specific Into:Active sessions. All e-learning should be completed by Friday 10th January. We will then be ready to launch the Into:Active products to the general public on Monday 13th January. Let’s get ready to welcome lots of new members to our leisure centres!
Indoor Cycling is Changing
Everyone exercises for different reasons; whether that’s for fun, to get fit, to lose weight, learn a new skill or socialise. We have conducted research over a significant amount of time, looking at our existing data and utilising industry / third party insight. As a result, we are stepping away from the one size fits all approach with our new cycling proposition. Our aspiration is to become a hub for cycling; offering advice both on site, outdoors and online.
The new cycling programmes have been tailored to suit beginners, families, those looking for something a bit more social and the more advanced cyclists aiming to enhance their current skills. Detailed below are our new range of insight driven programmes aimed at meeting the bespoke needs of the modern-day consumer:
Cycle Beats - Are you ready to party? Bop and bounce your way through this mixed intensity class with an epic playlist and rock star instructor!
Cycle Power - Love data? Want to know what you are really achieving in your cycling workouts? This instructor-led session will help you get the most out of your workout and get results!
Cycle Technique - New to cycling or just need some guidance on bike set up and the sessions we offer? This session will get you ready for more!
Cycle Family - Want some quality family time but a decent workout too? Improve your fitness together in these mixed intensity, instructor-led sessions!
Cycle Virtual - With Les Mills RPM and Sprint and SUF Cycling at your fingertips, our virtual workouts offer a range of class styles at times to suit you!
Our new approach to indoor cycling aims to make cycling fun and accessible to all.
These new cycling programmes are currently being piloted at The Bridge Leisure Centre and Wyre Forest Leisure Centre. Following a review of the pilot, we will be developing a roll out plan early next year.
Future cycling-related developments include small group training via Wattbike, as well as sports performance coaching via Bryan Steel, an Olympic and World Cycling Medallist.
