Keep active, we're still open

We would like to reassure all our customers that we are OPEN and working tirelessly to ensure that we take all the necessary and practical steps so that you can safely and confidently continue to enjoy the facilities and activities that matter to you. We are working closely with Public Health England and are reviewing our approach on a daily basis in line with the current planning and information available from the government.

If you’d like to freeze or cancel your membership or lessons please call your home leisure centre and they will help you with your request.

The government have encouraged people the avoid social venues and to continue to exercise, and in doing so to maintain social distance. We are making arrangements within our activity spaces to respect and observe this advice. In practical terms, this will mean ensuring distance between customers in group exercise classes and reducing the available equipment in our gyms. When it comes to the use of swimming pools, it’s good news. We’re supported by the Pool Water Advisory Group who are working closely with Public Health England, and have said national leads “confirm that coronavirus would be inactivated at the levels of chlorine used in swimming pools.”

We’re giving extra attention to the cleanliness of our facilities, particularly those frequently touched areas such as door handles and counter surfaces. Together we can all do a little bit to help:

  • If you are feeling unwell, please stay at home and recover
  • Please follow the guidance provided by Public Health England around hand washing and hygiene
  • If you think you may have encountered the virus or you have visited a high risk country, please call NHS 111 immediately for more information

Some of you may be uncertain about continuing to use our facilities and we do understand. We’d love you to stay active though, so please remember that you can use our Places Locker App to record your walking, running or cycling activity. If you’ve got some hand-weights and a mat at home, you could also download a workout too – so you’ll still be able to log your MOVES and remain fit and healthy.  You'll also find a link to Les Mills with over 100 free workouts that you can complete in your own home.

We're a social enterprise committed to creating active places and healthy people. Our profits are reinvested back into our services and facilities especially for you and your local community - and we couldn't do that without your support.
