We're dedicated to helping our members stay fit and well in whatever way suits them. That's why we've developed a comprehensive plan to ensure we can provide you with the support you need.
We offer a range of memberships to suit you, depending on your needs, from Gym Only deals to our all-encompassing Premium Plus membership.
Alternatively, we also welcome day visitors - find out how to create your free Places membership and claim your day pass.
Your first gym visit
To familiarise you with the gym and to get to know your goals we'd like to offer you a short introduction to the gym. This can be booked with a member of the team when you join. Premium and Gym members can book their introduction when joining online. We're aware some customers may want to just get going - so the introduction is optional. However, we'll always ask you to accept our Health Commitment Statement before your first visit.
Our gym is open from 6.00am - 9.00pm, Monday - Friday, and 8.00am - 6.00pm Saturdays and Sundays.
Remember our teams are here to help you and answer any of your questions.
Our classes are social, fun and a really good workout. They range from low impact to the more intense and guide you through every step with our fantastic instructors. You can enjoy our classes with a friend or meet new people each week.
Take time to completely relax and unwind in our beautifully tranquil health suite, featuring a relaxing infrared sauna; a calming steam room; a traditional, skin-purifying sauna; and deeply soothing, heated seats.
The Wellbeing suite is specifically designed to help our members that live with chronic conditions such as MS, fibromyalgia, and osteoarthritis – as well as individuals recovering from serious illness, surgery or injury.
The studio has a variety of power-assisted machines, which support your body’s movement by working with you rather than against you. With the ability to increase or decrease the level of resistance or support, the toning tables offer a good full-body workout for those looking to get back into fitness.
Personal training isn’t just for celebrities - everyone can benefit from some extra motivation.
You might have a particular event or goal, or you may just want a bit of extra encouragement during your session. Our trainers have different specialisms but are all focused on supporting you through fun and engaging sessions. Ask a member of the team for more details or call us on 01794 835550.
Exercise referral scheme
If you have suffered an illness or recently had an operation our GP referral sessions will help you get back into fitness. You’ll need a ‘prescription to exercise’ from your doctor to get started and our instructors will support you through your sessions.
Long COVID Recovery Programme
Romsey Rapids Sports Complex is one of dozens of Places Leisure venues currently offering our Long COVID Recovery Programme.
Delivered by certified coaches, we will support you by offering safe and effective advice, exercise guidance and lifestyle hints to help break the cycle of Long COVID symptoms.
Our programme comes at no extra cost to Premium members.
Health, fitness and remaining active starts at a young age; we encourage younger members of the community aged 11-15 to attend Junior Gym sessions to learn about the world of fitness!
