We're investing over £6 million into your centre
We are incredibly pleased to announce our continued management of the Elmbridge Xcel Leisure Complex, Elmbridge Xcel Sports Hub, and The Hurst Pool in partnership with Elmbridge Borough Council for the next 10 years.
Making a difference to the communities in which we are based is our core purpose as a Social Enterprise – Because Community Matters.
In light of this news, we are excited to announce that Places Leisure will be investing 6 million pounds into a complete refurbishment and restructure at Elmbridge Xcel Leisure Complex taking place over the next 2 years.

What changes will be made to the Elmbridge Xcel Leisure Complex during the rebuild?
We are always looking for innovative ways to bring change into the lives of local community. From the Les Mills lovers and parents with little ones to those just looking to catch up over coffee – we are proud that our centres provide a social space for everyone.
With this in mind, we chose to prioritise longevity and sustainability to ensure the facilities remain best in class for years to come, meeting the needs of the Elmbridge community, to become more active more often.
These are just some of the highlights we have coming to Elmbridge Xcel Leisure Complex:
Studio spaces - Autumn 2023
We have turned our gymnastics hall into four new studios. Including an immersive cycling studio and three group exercise studios – with dedicated space for holistic classes such as our much-loved Yoga and Pilates sessions.
Our sports hall will be used as a flexible space to incorporate activities including our Rise Gymnastics, Trampolining, Active Play & Bounce and sports sessions.
Gym extension - Winter 2023
Our fitness suite has significantly increased in size, catering for our avid gym-goers. The space was remodelled to allow for a wider range of equipment and stations.
Health Suite - Spring 2024
Our new Health Suite will be conveniently situated just steps away from our gym. Featuring two different steam rooms, a salt room, sauna, and heated loungers. These facilities promote circulation; reducing muscle soreness and improving cardiovascular health.
Costa Coffee - Summer 2024
We will be extending our café seating area to make way for our brand-new partnership with Costa Coffee. This will give our customers a place to relax, socialise and unwind after one of the many activities the centre has to offer.
Soft play - Summer 2024
Significantly increased in size, let little ones explore our brand-new, relocated, soft play. With interactive features to play, climb and slide!
Multi-use party rooms - Summer 2024
Dedicated party rooms offer the perfect place to end our parties and celebrate with cakes and presents when the little ones need refuelling.
Climbing wall - Autumn 2024
Our refurbished state-of-the-art climbing wall will feature more routes than ever before with the option to challenge climbers of every ability.
Changing rooms - Autumn 2024
A refresh to our wet side changing rooms will create more space, cater for every user of the centre, and enhance the overall experience for our members.
The refurbishments will commence later this year with the aim to reach completion in 2024.
In order to reduce disruption to our visitors during this time, work will be carried out in stages.
