Making new friends

A fun and social way to keep fit and healthy.

We’re pleased to be able to restart our Forever Active programme on Monday 12th October. Activities will run on Mondays and Thursday as usual, but understandably we’ve had to make some significant changes to the way in which we operate sessions. Please see below for further details

Unfortunately we can not run a full timetable and you’ll notice that some sessions have been split into multiple time slots to allow for larger numbers. All sessions have been adjusted to ensure that they are Covid secure and follow guidance from the relevant national governing bodies.

Booking

In order to meet government guidelines and ensure that we are compliant with test, track and trace all sessions must now be booked in advance. Sessions can be booked online via our website, via the Places Locker App and you can also call the centre on 01403 211311 to book. If you are in the centre for an activity you can book future sessions with reception, just ask a member of the team. Members can book 14 days in advance, pay per session spaces can be booked 7 days in advance.

Payment

To accommodate the new booking system we’ve had to make changes to the way you pay. You can now pay per session or alternatively we have introduced a Forever Active membership that can be paid monthly by direct debit at £25 per month or annually in advance for £300. Membership covers entry to all Forever Active sessions (other centre activities will be charged at their normal rate). If you are interested in the new Forever Active membership please get in touch.

On Arrival/At the centre

Please make your way to the front entrance. One of our Place Makers will be there to greet you and help you check in. Face coverings should be worn throughout the centre except when taking part in an activity. Our signage will direct you around the centre and our team are on hand to help. A one way system in place and when an activity finishes you have to exit following the one way system. If you are doing another activity you will need to come back to the main entrance and wait for your next session. You can not wait inside the centre for your next activity.

Table Tennis

Guidance from England Table Tennis permits only singles play at this time. We have allocated 4 spaces for each table but ask that customers take it in turns to play during their slot with only 2 players on a table at any one time. Players are not permitted to change tables you must at all times stay on the table you are allocated.  Participants must bring their own equipment, we are unable to provide equipment at this time.  Equipment can be purchased from reception.

Badminton

Guidance from Badminton England permits single and double play. We have allocated 6 spaces for each court but ask that customers take it in turns to play during their slot with only 4 players on a court at any one time. Players are not permitted to change court you must at all times stay on the court you are allocated.  Participants must bring their own equipment, we are unable to provide equipment at this time.  Equipment can be purchased from reception. 

Tennis

Participants must bring their own equipment, we are unable to provide equipment at this time.  Equipment can be purchased from reception.
