On Wednesday 25th September 2019, we be supporting ukactive’s National Fitness Day, encouraging the nation to celebrate the fun of fitness and physical activity by providing venues, challenges and free activities.

More than 50 of our centres will be taking part in the following ways:

Free activities

From classes like Zumba, yoga BodyPump, Aqua Fit and kettle bells, to swimming and gym sessions, our sites will be offering loads of free activities on the day!

Many centres are also enabling people to get their day off to a #FlyingStart, by offering free access to our gyms, virtual cycling classes and lane swimming between 7 and 9am.

Get involved!

See the ukactive activity finder to find out what is happening in your area. Alternatively, go to your local centre's web page and look in their news items for details of their activities: www.placeleisure.org/find-centre

We hope you can join us and join in the fun!

MOVEs challenges

While you're getting active, you're earning MOVEs, a measure of your daily physical activity. To be active you should aim for 750 moves per day. On National Fitness Day, we want people to earn their 750 MOVEs and help us hit a national target of 2 million MOVEs! So, in addition to the MOVEs earned at the free activities, many centres also have MOVEs challenges for you to take part in like cycling, rowing and running.

If you do, make it social!

Help break down the barriers that stop others being active and show that fitness is for everyone! Simply take a photo of yourself getting active on National Fitness Day, with a bit of info about what fitness means to you, then share on social media. Don’t forget to add #Fitness2Me and #FitnessDay and tag @FitnessDayUK – you could tag your centre too!

Try us for free!

If you loved getting active with us on #FitnessDay get a free 5-day pass for one of our centres so the free activities don't end when National Fitness Day does!

I'd like a free pass!
