Wellbeing Hub

A welcoming space to move more, feel better and connect with your community.

The Wandle Wellbeing Hub is a dedicated space inside Wandle Recreation Centre, built around your health, your confidence and your community, with accessibility carefully considered throughout. It is not a conventional gym.

Whether you are getting active for the first time, returning after illness or injury, managing a long term condition, or simply want somewhere welcoming to move more and meet people, the Hub is for you.

It brings together four connected areas: a relaxed Social Zone, the Innerva power assisted exercise suite, an Inclusive Gym with smart and easy to use equipment, and private Consultation Rooms. All are supported by our team and local community and health partners.

No pressure. No jargon. Just friendly support, at your pace.

How Do I Get Started?

There are two ways in.

Come along yourself:

•Get in touch online, by phone, or just pop in and speak to our team

•We will invite you for a welcome visit, show you around and listen to what you would like to achieve

•Together we will set up a programme that suits you, your goals and any health conditions

•Our team will check in with you regularly and adjust things as you progress

•Referred by a health professional:

GPs, practice nurses, physiotherapists, rehabilitation teams, social prescribers and other health and care professionals can refer you directly to the Hub. Once we receive your referral, we will contact you to arrange a welcome visit and everything follows the same friendly steps from there.

The Social Zone and Innerva Suite

The Social Zone is the heart of the Hub. It is a comfortable, welcoming space to arrive, stay, have a tea or coffee and chat with others. Community activities and social events run regularly here. Plenty of people come as much for the company as the exercise and that is exactly how it should be.

Alongside it sits the Innerva suite: a circuit of power assisted exercise machines that move with you, doing as much or as little of the work as you need. The machines are low impact and gentle on joints, and suitable for all abilities including anyone with limited mobility or strength. No gym experience is needed. Because the circuit works as a group, it is naturally sociable.

Regular sessions can support joint mobility, circulation and gentle strength building. Many people find the routine and the friendships just as valuable as the exercise itself.

Activate And Focus EGYM New

The Inclusive Gym (EGYM)

A calm, accessible gym space within the Hub, separate from the main fitness suite and designed for people who want a more supported experience.

The gym features EGYM smart resistance equipment. After a short initial assessment, every machine automatically adjusts to your settings, your seat position and your level of resistance. On screen guidance shows you exactly what to do, and the free EGYM app tracks your progress so you can see yourself getting stronger week by week.
