Amanda Overton is a qualified personal trainer at The Bridge. As well as being a Pilates instructor, she is also an exercise to music instructor and cardio weighted classes (Cardio-Sculpt) instructor. Find out about Amanda and our other PT's here.
About the course...
This 6 week 1:1 course is recommended for new to Pilates or anyone who is finding the execution of the technique, lateral breathing or exercises difficult to master.
Particularly recommended to increase core strength, and improve flexibility and mobility. Assists in alleviating lower back problems. Slight toning of the full muscular system and an overall feeling of well being.
Intro to Pilates including mastering technique, and lateral breathing movement and introducing the fundamental Pilates exercises.
Continuing with breathing/technique practise, introducing more core Pilates exercises, stretching for flexibility and the lower back.
As in previous weeks including lower back strength & mobility exercises and adding more core variations with higher intensity.
Following on from week 3 the resistance loop band will be introduced to add further intensity.
Adding more exercises and light free weights, increasing exercise intensity as appropriate to each individual.
Gradually add more exercises, more reps, higher levels of each exercise to increase intensity.
By end of the course you will be fully conversant with the mechanics of Pilates and how it is best used by you personally to enhance your overall physique and mental well being.
