Get active for August at Roehampton Sports and Fitness Centre
In partnership with the Council’s Public Health Division, Roehampton Sports and Fitness Centre is helping residents to get active no matter your age or condition. There are activities and resources for everyone.
In a given week, 22 minutes of activity a day can achieve health benefits. For children 5 to 18 years old, the recommendation is 60 minutes per day across the week. For more tips on getting active, click here.
Having regular physical activity improves health and wellbeing. Benefits include building up resilience against poor physical health and maintaining your mental health by connecting with others. Don’t forget that physical activity is more than exercising with gym equipment. It includes activities such as walking, football, dancing, or simply using the stairs rather than the lift.
We've got a wealth of activities taking place throughout the coming weeks in August to keep you active throughout the summer months. Why not come along a try something new?
