Our state-of-the-art, £22 million leisure centre is now open, and designed to be your new home away from home – your local activity and fitness hub, with an exceptional range of activities, thoughtfully developed and strategically designed to accommodate all age groups and abilities. 

We are delighted by the interest and have been overwhelmed by calls and enquiries - our apologies where we haven't been able to answer as soon as you would have liked. We have tried to answer many of your questions below. Be sure to check back frequently for regular updates.

About the centre

What is the address of the Centre?

What are the centre's opening hours?

Our centre opening hours are:

  • Monday to Friday 6.00am-10.30pm
  • Saturday 7.00am-8.00pm
  • Sunday 7.00am - 10.00pm
  • Bank Holidays 7.00am-10.00pm

Does the centre have wifi?

Yes, please connect to Places Leisure and enter the following password: Whatever place you're into 

We are aware of limited mobile phone coverage within the centre, wifi is your best connectivity option when visiting. 

 

Does the centre have parking?

Yes, we you will be able to park for a maximum of 3 hours for free.   Customers will be asked to sign in on a digital kiosk and their vehicle registration within 20 minutes of their arrival.  We have space for over 300 vehicles, plus 10 ports for electric cars.

In addition, we have 30 covered spaces for bikes along with a cycle repair station.

 

Do you have a drop off point?

Yes, we have a drop off zone located at the front of the building. Please be aware that there is a 20 minute time limit for this zone.

 

I don't drive, is there a bus route?

There is a bus stop just outside the leisure centre, Stagecoach is the main operator for this area, please visit their website for the most up to date timetable.

 

Will I need to prebook my activity?

After a recent review on Health Suite bookings, we are pleased to confirm that we will now be removing the pre-booking requirement. From 21st August, 2021, all Premium Plus and Health Suite members can access the facilities at any time during opening hours once they have checked-in at one of the self-serve check-in desks.

All other activities are bookable online apart from Gym sessions, Please be aware you can call the centre directly however lines are very busy, we would recommend online booking as you easiest and quickest way to book. other sessions, including classes, all swim sessions, Clip 'n Climb and soft play must still be booked online or via the Places Locker app. It's important when booking that you log in/register using the email address linked to your membership record. If you have any issues please pop in and see us and we can help.

Ideally, to maximise your time at the centre, we advise that you please arrive swim-ready with your swimming costume under your clothes, or, gym/class-ready with your gym kit on prior to arrival. This helps to reduce the volume of visitors in the changing rooms at any one time. All showers and changing cubicles will be open and available for you to use after your swim and/or workout. 

For soft play, Clip 'n Climb, just swim and family swim sessions please check into reception on arrival and provide your booking receipt.

 

What is the Places Locker app?

Our Places Locker app is your easy to use, go-to fitness partner. It tracks your activity - both in the centre and out - and, features an extensive library of virtual workouts and fitness programmes.

You can also use the app to easily book all of your sessions and classes and, members can access their membership QR code. Simply download the app, go to membership area and scroll down to 'My QR Codes' where you will find your card number in a QR format, ready to scan for easy entry into the centre from your first visit.

You may be aware of some coverage issues for mobile phones within the centre, those using their QR code from a mobile may wish to have it ready before entering the centre.

 

Junior member bookings

Please be aware that all Premium Memberships include up to 4 Junior Memberships at no extra cost – with swimming included! Please note that the details of the four free juniors need adding on your first visit to the centre, their names and email address (if they are over 13 and require online bookings) will be requested.

How much do you charge for children’s swimming?

We know that it is essential for children to have regular swimming sessions, as this helps children to become confident and familiar with water, especially when they are swimming with a parent or family members. Being in the water with someone they trust shows them that swimming is safe and fun! We are pleased to offer free swimming to all children, aged 4 years and under within a family swim session.

Please be aware that all Premium Memberships include up to 4 Junior Memberships at no extra cost – with swimming included! Please note that the details of the four free juniors need adding on your first visit to the centre, their names and email address (if they are over 13 and require online bookings) will be requested.

I have limited mobility; how do I access the pool?

We have a number of options for you to access the pool in the way that is best for you. Options include:

  • Pool hoists
  • Easy access steps
  • Accessible pool lift

 

What is a splash pad?

Our splash pad is a designated area of the pool hall, created as a fantasy, castle themed water playground, where toddlers and younger children can enjoy hours of fun. It’s a wonderful introduction to the joys of water in a safe environment. The area includes water features such as ground nozzles, raindecks, spray jets, water umbrellas, water blasters.

This is available when booking a family swim.

 

What do I need to use the lockers?

All lockers will require padlocks. Please feel free to bring you own robust padlock from home. Alternatively, we have padlocks available to purchase at reception for a cost of £5 (yours to keep), we have the option of a combination lock or a key lock that comes with a handy band for your key.

Health Suite

What does the Health Suite include?

Our state-of-the-art health suite includes:

  • Sauna
  • Steam room
  • Citrus steam room
  • Salt room
  • Heated loungers
  • Day beds

 

Do I get the Health Suite as part of my membership?

All Premium Plus members will have the Health Suite included in their membership. We also offer a Health Suite only membership along with pay-as-you-go access. For membership prices, please click here.

 

Do I have to be a member to use The Health Suite?

The Health Suite will be available on a pay-as-you-go basis. 

 

Where is the Health Suite located?

The Health Suite is located on the first floor and has its own dedicated changing rooms and lockers. All lockers will require padlocks. Please feel free to bring you own robust padlock from home.
