Upon signing up to the scheme, you will meet our friendly team of trained staff at your chosen Leisure Centre within the Epping District. Together, you will agree a personal plan which considers your medical conditions, preferences, interests, and lifestyles.
During the 12-week programme, you will be provided with ongoing support from the team to achieve the goals set during your first consultation session.
What’s the process?
Your first appointment can take 30 minutes at either Places Leisure Epping, Loughton, Ongar, Waltham Abbey Leisure Centre. You will meet with a member of the fitness team to go through a pre-exercise questionnaire and discuss the different activities available.
The team will work with you to set realistic goals and work through an exercise plan. If the gym is something you would like to try, we’ll set you up with a personalised programme and taking into account your medical conditions and reason for referral.

Junior fitness
We believe a physically active child is much more likely to become a physically active adult. We run the following supervised sessions for children aged 11-15 years to attend:
- Monday to Friday: 4.00pm - 4.55pm | 5.00pm - 5.55pm
- Saturday and Sunday: 2.00pm - 3.00pm
All junior gym users must complete a group introduction before using the gym independently. These sessions last 30 minutes and can be booked with a member of our team when joining.
Once a junior member has completed their introduction and received programme advice they can attend from 9.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday and after 9.00am on weekends supervised sessions with a parent/guardian or appropriate adult (18+) on a ratio of a maximum four juniors per adult.
Ask a member of the team for details, or call us on 0203 225 5460.
