Our Fitness Manager Mervyn, has nominated Richard for the Community Matter's Awards, read Richards inspirational story here

"In 2015, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, which caused my health and fitness to rapidly decline.

In 2020, following surgery and the intervention of heavy medication I became symptom free from my condition and it was at this point I decided to get my fitness back to what it once was.

I joined Fairfield, as it is only a five-minute walk from home, and for its reputation for being a friendly, family orientated gym. Over the last 3 years, I've seen my fitness transform from barely jogging any distance to currently attaining (officially) the fastest 5k and 10k run at Fairfield. I owe my successful fitness journey, not only to my family's support, but the inspiration and drive I receive from the gym members and expert advice from all the PTs and staff at Fairfield Leisure.

I received a phone call from Ellie this week, one of the PTs at Fairfield, asking how I was getting on as I had taken a short break from training at the gym recently. This reminded me of how far I have come on this journey (usually training 5 times a week for over 2 years) and boosted me to return. The gym will always continuously raise my confidence to aim high and achieve my goals"

Richard would like to say a massive thank you to all of the staff at Fairfield Leisure
