Now is the best time!
As we progress through the autumn, we move into our busiest period for swimming lesson sign-ups as children rediscover their love for swimming and parents wish to use the autumn and winter to develop their ability in the water.
Learning a physical skill makes for a great combination for children that are returning to school as it allows time away from the classroom to destress, improve self-esteem and take pride in overcoming physical challenges as well as mental classroom ones. Chris Davison at Durham University expressed the importance of extra-curricular activities in “helping students to learn about themselves and develop and use their skills and knowledge in different contexts”. The time away from the classroom to remain productive and develop different social bonds has also been linked to improved academic performance.
But don’t just take our word for it. Take this opportunity to get organised and book your child in now to allow them to develop a new hobby amongst likeminded children whilst working on their confidence in the water.
