What are virtual classes?
Virtual Group Workout offers you pre-recorded fitness sessions delivered on a screen within a studio or via our Virtual Studio in the Places Leisure app.
What do I need to know about class etiquette?
It’s important that you arrive on time, playing a part in the warm-up reduces the risk of injury and our instructors like to say hi, especially to our new visitors. We’d also ask you to wear appropriate clothing. If you are new to the class, let yourself be known to the Instructor so they can support you.
How do I cancel classes, what is our cancellation policy?
You can cancel classes directly through the app if you are a member, we do require 6 hours notice. If you cancel a class within this time frame, a late cancellation penalty of £4.00 will be applied. If you are not a member, bookings can be cancelled and transferred to another time by contacting the Centre or Customer Service Teams. Casual bookings are non-refundable.
Why is spin called group cycling?
Spin is a registered trademark assigned to one make of group cycling bikes. As we use different bikes, we don't call our classes by that name, but you can still get a great workout and experience!
Are the classes suitable for all abilities?
Yes, all classes are given progressions and regressions to accommodate all abilities. Please arrive early and let your Instructor know you are new to this class. If you have any specific medical conditions you feel the instructor should know about, please notify them before the class.
Can juniors attend classes?
14 and 15 year olds can pay to attend non weight bearing classes if accompanied by an appropriate adult aged 18+ years. An adult can supervise up to 2 juniors. We do run junior specific classes too! Please speak to a member of the team who will happily support you.
How do I book a space for a carer if I need one?
You do not need to book for a carer to attend to support you. They can stand at the side of the studio nearby should you need them. Please notify the instructor at the start of the class if you have brought a carer with you.
How do I book a space for a friend?
All places need to be booked under individual accounts, it is not possible to book multiple spaces. A Pay As You Go account is free to set up and can be done at the time of making the booking.
