What’s our policy on healthy eating?
Places Leisure is committed to promoting healthy eating by offering a variety of products that enable our customers to make informed choices.
We recognise that every customer is unique, and so are their refreshment needs. Whether they are energetic fitness enthusiasts, leisurely swimmers, or simply visiting for an occasional treat, we strive to provide options that help them rehydrate and refuel.
However, due to popularity or occasional stock shortages, we may not always have every item available to meet nutritional needs. We encourage our customers to share their feedback with us. Whether it’s menu items from our full kitchen operations or individually wrapped selections in our Coffee Shops, we aim to provide food options with clear nutritional guidance, allowing everyone to choose with confidence.
Why do you sell confectionary and sweets?
We sell Confectionery and Crisps as long as there is a demand, and for many people, a visit to a Leisure Centre is a treat. Many of our customers require a snack or a drink when catering is not available. The challenge to an unhealthy lifestyle is the volume and frequency of eating coupled with inactivity. We would not want to discourage people from enjoying an active lifestyle at our Leisure Centres or deny them the opportunity to refuel or have a treat.
We offer a variety of products that give all our customers a choice when they're looking to rehydrate and refuel. As tastes change, we look to change the range as they become available. Manufacturers are addressing the health concerns by re-formulating their products in terms of size, calories, or sugar content.
As of August 2025, all our vended drinks are below 5mg of sugar per 100ml, meaning they are low or zero sugar, and we have not changed the price of bottled water since 2023.
