Parkinson's Move & Shout

Programme beginning 11th September

 

 

Places Leisure in collaboration with Parkinson's UK, offers classes specialised for individuals with Parkinson's. Our classes take place in our centre environment and aim to promote physical fitness, mobility, and overall well-being for participants. Additionally, our classes aim to raise awareness and understanding of Parkinson's within the local community.

 

Our Parkinson's Move & Shout Physical Activity classes are tailored to address the specific needs of individuals living with Parkinson's. It provides targeted physical activity sessions with the goal of improving participants' quality of life, enhancing motor skills, and fostering a supportive community.

 

 

Our programme

12-weeks of 60 minute group physical activity session ranging from: circuits, boxercise, seated exercise, strength & balance exercises and more! During the first session, participants will also be asked to take part in a short activity to measure their mobility. This will also be completed in week 12 to measure progress. 
You can join the programme at any point (subject to availability), but to make the most of the programme we recommend joining at week 1.
Carers are welcome to attend within their caring capacity free of charge and there is a café downstairs where carers are welcome to relax.

Programme cost

Pay as you go - first session free and then £4.50 per session or choose to enrol on our Exercise Referral Programme for £36 per month which includes a premium membership and 1-1 sessions with a specialist instructor. As part of this, you will receive a bespoke training programme to improve your mobility, strength & balance to support PD symptoms.

  • Our next programme will begin 11th September - 27th November
  • Sessions will be every Thursday at 11.40am - 12.40pm
