Personal Training 101

Smash your goals with a personal trainer

Don’t know where to start or your progress seems to have plateaued? Maybe you have an objective in mind that you need extra assistance with to ensure you reach it… a PT might be your answer!

Read on for our personal training 101 – giving you a rundown of our most common questions: answered.

What is a personal trainer?

A personal trainer (PT) is a professionally qualified individual that provides top quality support, expertise, and motivation to our members across the country.
They are committed to your health and fitness goals. Working with your specifications to create a fitness programme bespoke to you. They bring energy and motivation to your workouts and above all, make sure you find joy in your health and fitness journey.

Our personal trainers will make sure you have confidence around the machines, an understanding of what will help you achieve your goals and the ability to perform every exercise with the correct form and tempo.

Easily bored of routine? As you progress through your plans, our personal trainers make sure to switch up your routine where necessary to keep you on track to real results.

Who would benefit from a PT?

There isn’t a person who wouldn’t benefit from the help of a personal trainer – from those stepping foot in the gym for the first time to bodybuilders who need a strict plan toward their journey to the stage.
Everyone is different. But one thing is for certain: if you need long-term assistance in the gym, our personal trainers are here to guide you – and no fitness query is too big for them. Helping others smash their goals is their passion!

What to expect, how long do I need one and how much does it cost?

Here are just some of the ways in which their expertise can help you:

• Getting familiar with the gym and all the machines in it.
• Introducing you to new ways of training.
• Defining your goals and how best to reach them with a bespoke fitness plan.
• Making your activity time efficient and effective.
• Motivating and holding you accountable through every workout!
• Support in progressing towards your goals outside of the gym.
• Expert advice that brings confidence in performing exercises with the best technique.
• Getting you results!

Ultimately, the purpose of a personal trainer is to help you and your needs. Expect specialised support towards your goals but don’t expect a ‘one size fits all approach’.

Trainers work differently with everyone, and if something isn’t working quite right for you, they will change their approach to suit you and help you achieve your results. Similarly, the cost of a trainer is different at every centre. Just ask on your next visit to find out how much it costs! There is no long-term commitment, and you can pay per session or get discounts for buying sessions in bulk!

As for duration, there is no amount of time that works for everyone. Some people have goals or timeframes they wish to work to whilst others might just want some direction in the gym and with the exercises that work for their needs.

There is no long-term commitment with our personal trainers beyond what is stated in their terms (usually a month which has been paid for upfront). In terms of cost, this varies based on the particular trainer you decide to work with and the level of training they can give you.
