Your data rights

The law gives you a number of rights to control what personal information is used by us, and by local authority’s where we are operating a centre as agent for a local authority, and how it is used by us. 

Important: How you exercise your data rights depends on which leisure centre you use.  

For agency-operated centres: Your local authority is the data controller for your personal information. You should direct requests to them. Find your local authority’s Data Protection Officer contact details in our full privacy policy. 

For other centres: Places for People Leisure Management Ltd is the data controller. Contact us using the details at the bottom of this page.  

You can ask for access to the information we hold on you 

You have the right to ask for the information the data controller has about you. When the data controller receives a request from you in writing, they must give you access to what personal information they’ve recorded about you.  

However, we can’t let you see any parts of a record which contain: 

This applies to personal information that is in both paper and electronic records. If you ask the data controller, they’ll also let others see your record (except if one of the points above applies).
