Places Leisure is delighted to announce that we have been awarded a five-year contract extension for the management and operation of Fairfield Leisure Centre by Dartford Borough Council.
We have managed Fairfield Leisure Centre since February 2016. The contract extension will come into play in February 2026 and will see Places Leisure continue to manage the centre until February 2031.
As part of the agreement, Places Leisure will be investing over £920k into the centre to make a number of improvements including new fitness equipment, IT infrastructure, and changing facilities.
Dan Walker, Business Development Director at Places Leisure, said: “We are delighted to be extending our successful partnership with Dartford Borough Council. We have operated and managed Fairfield Leisure Centre since 2016 and we see daily the positive impact and importance it holds within the local community.
“Over the next five years we will be making substantial investment into the facility which will build on our current offering. We are committed to improving people’s lives and the communities in which they live. We hope to create more opportunities for members of the community to enjoy getting active, whether that is within the centres themselves or in the wider community through some of our outreach work.”
Jeremy Kite, Leader of Dartford Borough Council, said: “Places Leisure has worked hard to develop a loyal membership and userbase at Fairfield and we are confident that they have the expertise to lead the centre through this contract extension."
