What you need to know
At Places Leisure, we want to help you stay strong, confident, and independent. Our Falls Prevention Programme is designed to improve your balance, strength, and overall well-being - reducing the risk of falls while keeping you active and connected.
Research shows that completing at least 50 hours of targeted exercise can significantly lower your risk of falling. That’s why our programme offers expert-led sessions tailored to support you in feeling steady on your feet and more confident in your daily life.

Our programme is tailored to provide you with the best care at every step of the way.
As part of the programme, those referred will also receive all the benefits of our Premium membership at a discounted rate, which includes unlimited access to the gym, pool, and classes.

Falls Prevention Programme overview
Week 1:
• Meet with the centre's Cardiac Rehabilitation Instructor
• Register onto a discounted membership
• Explain how to access and use the centre
• Initial assessment and review
Weeks 2-10:
• Weekly exercise sessions focusing on strength, balance, and flexibility, with educational advice on falls prevention strategies
Weeks 11-12:
• Re-assessment to evaluate progress and adjust individual plans as necessary.
Weeks 13-23:
• Weekly exercise sessions continue, focusing on strength, balance, and flexibility, with educational advice on falls prevention strategies
Week 24:
• Programme assessment
• Continue to use the centre following completion
