At Places Leisure, we want to help you stay strong, confident, and independent. Our Falls Prevention Programme is designed to improve your balance, strength, and overall well-being - reducing the risk of falls while keeping you active and connected.

Research shows that completing at least 50 hours of targeted exercise can significantly lower your risk of falling. That’s why our programme offers expert-led sessions tailored to support you in feeling steady on your feet and more confident in your daily life.

As part of the programme, those referred will also receive all the benefits of our Premium membership at a discounted rate, which includes unlimited access to the gym, pool, and classes.

Falls Prevention Programme overview

Who is eligible?

Our Falls Prevention Programme is designed for anyone who has experienced a fall, is at risk of falling, or feels unsteady on their feet. It’s also ideal for those living with conditions that affect mobility and balance.

To take part, you should be able to move independently or with the support of a four-wheeled walker, elbow crutches, or walking sticks.

We’re unable to accept People who meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Individuals who frequently experience dizziness  

  • Individuals with significant and symptomatic postural hypotension 

  • Those who are medically unstable to engage in exercise 

  • Individuals requiring assistance from one or more people for mobility and personal care 

  • People with various heart-related conditions, including uncontrolled angina, unstable or acute heart failure, and tachycardia 

  • Those with acute systemic illnesses (e.g., acute cancer-related issues, pneumonia) 
  • Individuals who have had a recent injurious fall without a medical examination 

  • People unable to maintain an upright seated position or follow simple movement instructions due to neurological deficits
