Inflatable Fun sessions
Come and have the ultimate fun on our pool inflatable in our inflatable fun sessions. A fantastic day out, for the whole family!
Minimum age 5, under 8s need to be supervised (one adult to one under 8)

Parties at Balham Leisure Centre
Turn your child’s party into an exciting day to remember.
There's no fuss and no mess. You, your child and their friends have all the fun whilst we plan the big day for you.
Parties at Balham Leisure Centre
Active Play and Bounce party (bouncy castle)
Our Bouncy Castle is the main attraction but there is lots of space to run about and celebrate!
Our party host will ensure that appropriate music for a child's birthday party is playing.
Times and prices:
- Saturdays and Sundays 2.00pm - 3.30pm

Party includes:
- 30 minutes in the bouncy castle
- 30 minutes of games with 2 party instructors
- 30 minutes in a room with tables and chairs for celebration
Information:
- Maximum capacity: 20 children
- Suitable for those aged 8 years and under
- Price does not include food and decoration

Inflatable Pool Party
Can you master the inflatable challenge? Take on the challenge; race your mates and have a splashing time. See who will reign supreme!
Times and prices:
- Saturdays 4.30pm - 6.15pm and 6.00pm - 7.45pm
- £190
Party includes
- 1 hour in the pool
- 45 minutes in a dedicated room for celebration
Information:
- All children must be able to swim unaided to go on the inflatable. As a result, a competency assessment will be carried out at the beginning of the session
- The inflatable obstacle course is for 8-15 year olds only
- All participants must wear a buoyancy aid to wear throughout the session
- All under 8's will not be permitted on the inflatable but can enjoy the Splash Fun in the shallow end
- The price does not include food or decoration
- Maximum capacity for children over 8 years old is 20 children
- Maximum capacity of 5 additional children under 8 are permitted, however our 1 adult to 2 children policy still applies
- Please allow 3-5 working days for your confirmation email

NPLQ training courses
We offer training for the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification for budding lifeguards at Balham Leisure Centre.

Training Courses at Balham Leisure Centre
We have a number of courses available.
National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
NPLQ is widely accepted by swimming pools in the UK and Ireland as a minimum qualification as a role of a lifeguard within the swimming pool.
The NPLQ course includes 3 sections:
- Section 1 - The lifeguard and the Law, Swimming Pool and Supervision
- Section 2 - Intervention and Rescue and Emergency Action Plans
- Section 3 - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and First Aid.
- Section 4 - AED
The course includes swimming pool rescue skills, basic life support, basic First Aid, managing a casualty suffering from a spinal injury, managing a swimming pool environment, identifying hazards that could cause harm to users and much more.
Every candidate attending a NPLQ course must be 16-years-old at the time of taking the NPLQ final assessment and be able to:
- Jump/dive into deep water
- Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds
- Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water
- Tread water for 30 seconds
- Surface dive to the floor of the pool
- Climb out unaided without ladder/steps and where the pool design allows
Successful candidates will receive:
- RLSS NPLQ certificate for each candidate
- RLSS NPLQ Lifeguard manual for each candidate
- Handouts and revision sheets for each candidate
Working in partnership with the Royal Lifesaving Society.

Annual First Aid 3-hour refresher
To provide adequate training to enable first aid to be given in the workplace.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) strongly recommend that holders of a First Aid at Work qualification refresh skills annually by attending a refresher session.
You must hold a current First Aid at Work qualification to attend the course.
The session covers responsibilities of a First Aider, casualty assessment and casualty treatment.
Successful candidates will receive a certificate.
First Aid at Work 2-day renewal
This 2-day course refreshes and updates the first aid skills of those who need to renew their First Aid at Work certificate (within the 3-year validity). The course will reassess the competency of those attending.
As a pre-requisite, candidates must hold an existing FAAW certificate to enrol onto a 2-day First Aid at Work renewal course.
Successful candidates will receive:
- Royal Lifesaving Society First Aid at Work certificate
- First Aid at Work manual

We supply a wide range of Zoggs swimwear for children and adults as well as a selection of toys and fun training aids. Our staff are always on hand to understand your needs and assist you in finding the right product for you.
If you can’t see what you are looking for, please ask reception as we can order items for you.
