Accessibility at Aldershot Lido
Essential Companion Scheme
Accessibility at Aldershot Lido
Aldershot Lido is more accessible and enjoyable for everyone now. As part of our commitment for inclusive access, we’ve been working in partnership with Rushmoor Borough Council and the Rushmoor Accessibility Action Group (RAAG) to launch a our new Essential Companion Scheme to support customers with disabilities during their visit to the Aldershot Lido. The scheme is designed to ensure that everyone can experience a safe, welcoming and supportive environment.
To access this concession, all customers wishing to participate will need to be registered with the scheme
What is the Essential Companion Scheme?
This scheme enables eligible visitors to:

- Bring up to two carers, free of charge
Essential Companions must be able to provide practical help during the visit, such as:
- Assisting with navigation around the site
- Communicating with staff
- Supporting general wellbeing and safety
- Helping in emergencies or evacuations

Whilst this benefit has been available in the past, customers with disabilities have been required to present proof of eligibility every single time they have visited the lido. This new scheme enables visitors to present proof just once, with a record then being kept on their account. Then are then free to book tickets as and when required.
