UK Coaching Week - Lisa Temple
Meet our coaches!
Lisa Temple
Trampoline Coach
Lisa started trampolining when she was just 8 years old and finished at 18 after competing all over London and the South East. She now holds a Level 2 qualification with additional somersaulting add-on modules as a trampoline coach and has just enrolled on a level 3 course.
“I became interested in coaching after retiring from competitive trampolining so enrolled in the level 2 coaching course in 1988. Around 10 years ago I took another course to enable me to teach higher level somersaulting skills - I’ve worked at the leisure centre for 19 years.”
Lisa’s favourite skill to teach is the single front and back somersault – “the joy on the children’s faces when they land it for the first time on their own is amazing!”

Lisa teaches 10 hours a week split into competitive and recreational lessons allowing performers to learn and develop the skills needed to simply jump for fun, obtain their trampolining awards and compete against other great gymnasts around the country.
“There are so many things I love about this sport from the tiny child learning to jump for the first time, the child achieving a somersault on their own with the biggest smile and seeing a performer standing on the podium at competition. Making the lessons fun whilst achieving skills along the way is also very important!”
Her proudest achievement is seeing her daughter place 2nd in the country at trampoline national finals.
