Jogger's Journey - Kerry Haresign

London marathon has been on my bucket list since I was a little girl, I enter the ballot every year and never get a place. Last year 2021 I was lucky enough to get a place, however, in March 2021 I was diagnosed with breast cancer.

As you can imagine, this shattered my world at that moment in time and put a stop to running and all other forms of exercise. I underwent 2 major operations last year, and consequently was unable to train. As I was lucky be able to defer my place, this year is my year to go and be great in the face of adversity.

I still have one small operation to go which hopefully won’t take me out for too long. I’m dreading the thought of having to run 26 miles and I know I will find it very hard but I’ll be reminding myself every step how lucky I am to still be alive and that will get me through this tough challenge!
