Following an announcement from Rushmoor Borough Council, we have an important update on Farnborough Leisure Centre and Aldershot Pools and Fitness Centre.
  • Farnborough Leisure Centre will not re-open following the national lockdown.
  • Aldershot Pools and Fitness Centre will re-open after the national lockdown and continue to be managed by us, Places Leisure.

What does this mean for Aldershot Pools and Fitness Centre?

Aldershot Pools and Fitness Centre will re-open once government lockdown restrictions are lifted. All memberships and lessons are frozen - please click here for our information hub. Aldershot members do not need to do anything with their membership, we await government confirmation of when the centre can re-open and will communicate with you directly once this is confirmed.

What does this mean for Farnborough Leisure Centre?

Farnborough Leisure Centre will remain closed until the new centre is built. Please see below for all you need to know about memberships, swim lessons and an opportunity to keep active in our other local leisure centres.

I pay by Direct Debit for a fitness or swimming membership at Farnborough Leisure Centre, what will happen?

If you pay by Direct Debit, all membership payments were frozen free of charge following the government announcements to close centres and the value of any days that we owed you will be refunded to you with 14 working days. Your membership will be cancelled, unless you have a swimming membership.

If you are a Farnborough Premium member or Swim only member, giving you access to Aldershot Pools and Fitness Centre as well as Farnborough Leisure Centre, your membership will be cancelled. If you wish to continue using Aldershot Pools and Fitness Centre, you will need join Aldershot directly. If you would like to register your interest in Aldershot, or any of our other local centres, just fill in this form and we will be in touch.

I pay annually up front for a fitness or swimming membership at Farnborough Leisure Centre, what will happen?

If you paid an up-front payment for an annual membership all membership payments were frozen free of charge following the government announcements to close centres, the value of any days that we owed you will be refunded to you by the end of February 2021. We do not hold bank details for these memberships so our team will be in touch to arrange a refund. We advise customers to cancel their direct debit. If you have an annual swimming membership and your primary centre is Farnborough, you can either cancel your membership or continue using Aldershot Pools.

I am keen on staying active, what else is available for me?

If you are keen to stay active you can join one of our local centres. These are listed in order of distance from Farnborough Leisure Centre. All will re-open once government restrictions are lifted, except for our new leisure centre, Places Leisure Camberley (replacing the old Arena Leisure Centre) - we are putting the finishing touches to this new centre which is scheduled to open in summer 2021. I use or would like to use Places Locker Virtual Studio; how can I still access it?

I pay for gymnastics and trampolining courses at Farnborough Leisure Centre, what will happen?

If you pay by Direct Debit all course payments were frozen free of charge following the government announcements to close centres, the value of any courses that we owed you will be refunded to you within 14 working days and the courses and payments will be cancelled. If you are keen for your child(ren) to continue their course, there may be spaces available at our local centres for either trampolining and/or gymnastics. I am a Places Member at Farnborough Leisure Centre, what happens?

Your Places membership allows you pay as you move access to all our leisure centres and gyms. We would love to welcome you at one of our centres when they re-open. Please click on the links below, and once we are re-open you can simply change the site you book at through our member area or Places Locker app.

I am owed a refund for a pre-booked activity that would have taken place while Farnborough Leisure Centre was closed, what will happen?

Our team are in the process of refunding sessions and will be in touch to arrange yours.

I run a club that hires Farnborough Leisure Centre, what happens to my booking?

Our team will be in touch shortly, and we will be happy to refund any unused sessions, and we will do our best to find space at one of our local centres or work with Rushmoor Borough Council to find local alternatives.

Can you tell me more about the future of Aldershot Lido?

The re-opening of Aldershot Lido is still subject to review and we will update our website once we know more.

I visit Farnborough Tenpin Bowling, what is happening to that facility?

Unfortunately, as a result of the announcement Farnborough Bowl will not be re-opening.

What will happen to the team members that work at the centres which will be closing?

We are working hard to look after these team members, and any opportunities that arise once government announcements allow our other local centres to re-open. In conjunction with Rushmoor Borough Council we are also assisting team members in finding other opportunities in the local area.
