The higher the intensity, the faster the results!
The work-out craze taking the world by storm
Short and sweet!
The words "high intensity" can be daunting for sure. But it doesn't have to be.
First, a little bit about what high intensity training actually is. A high intensity workout does mean that you're doing a cardio workout that includes short bursts of hard work, but the key is that during those bursts you're exerting yourself at almost max effort. In between those intense intervals, you're slowing down or resting for a short period in order to get ready for the next interval of effort. High intensity workouts can also be strength training workouts, but the effort and speed with which you do the exercises makes the workout a cardio one, too.
People in general can be afraid of fitness and anything that’s outside their comfort zone. With a high intensity workout, you have less chance of getting an injury if you’re doing everything correctly, because you aren’t doing it for a long time. Don’t be afraid to work out. Don’t be afraid to sweat. Don’t be afraid to lift heavy. Get outside your comfort zone because that’s the only way to get change.
Remember, don't worry about what the person next to you is doing, you're all there to get better, together!
Great, high intensity workouts take less than half an average class time. Studies show that 15 minutes of high intensity interval training burns more calories than jogging on a treadmill for an hour.
Winning in your first class.
Because the biggest competition during a high intensity class probably happens before you even get to the studio. The biggest competition is lacing up your shoes, double checking our group exercise timetable, filling your water bottle, and showing up. No matter how many breaks you need during the class or how utterly uncool you feel when you trip over yourself a little bit, you defeated a tough class just by showing up. Which is pretty awesome, if you think about it.
