Gymnast of the year 2022
After a challenging 2022 we wanted to round the year off with some good news stories. We asked all of our Gymnastic coaches to nominate those distinctive, very special gymnasts who deserve a bit of recognition.
They were asked to identify gymnasts on our lesson programmes who have displayed positive attitudes, unyielding determination or, have put in efforts over and above their peers. They may have overcome personal adversity or achieved something unexpected or challenging.
Dylan Mitchell - The Bridge Leisure Centre's Gymnast of the year 2022!
Trampolining is a very challenging sport at the best of times but for a child with autism it brings a whole new level of challenges.
Dylan is a very determined boy who has been coming to trampolining classes with me for over 2 years now and he enjoys every single lesson. He tries his hardest with the skills that I challenge him with and will not stop trying them until he gets them right. We have been trying back landings for a few months now and he has made some amazing progress. Every time he gets on that trampoline he wants to try back landings so he can get it ticked off his list and achieve the level 5 award. I am very proud of Dylan for the progress he has made since starting his trampolining lessons and I know he’s very proud of himself as well.
Well done Dylan!
