FUNdamentals Gymnastics

Your Gymnastics journey at New Mills can start from 2 1/2Yrs with our FUNdamentals programme held on Mondays at 4pm.

Developed by British Gymnastics, the ''FUNdamental Movement Ideas for Early Years'' scheme has been designed to help young people enjoy physical exercise.

The emphasis is on ''FUN'', and the programme introduces a wide range of physical activities based around 16 different themes. The activities will help children to learn basic movement skills with the experience of managing their bodies. Participation in the fundamental scheme gives children a head start in encountering new physical and emotional experiences and developing social interaction.

The full scheme of activities have been developed with 8 different ''FUN'' themes:

  • Adventure Park
  • Castle
  • City
  • Magic
  • Travel
  • Seaside
  • Storyland
  • Party

The main aim of this FUNdamental programme is for children to learn that movement and activity is fun and enjoyable. This will encourage children''s interest in ALL TYPES OF SPORTS and will lead to healthier active children and fitter adults.

When your child is ready or from 3 Years + they will transition into our "Jump into Gymnastics" programme.
