New Faces for Places

Dover Leisure Centre is delighted to announce a number of new members have joined the team.

Recently taken on by Places For People Leisure, the team at Dover Leisure Centre is growing in preparation for the exciting new move planned for early next year and to support the existing team, many of whom regular users of the centre will be delighted to know have decided to stay on with the new company.

Joining the team are Tony Crafer, Stewart Sinnock, Nicole Crockett and Jack Fagg.

Tony joins the Dover team as the General Manager and has moved across from Places Leisure Centre in Dartford. His experience in all things ‘Places Leisure’ made him the ideal choice to head up the growing team at Dover. His right-hand lady and Operations Manager is long-serving member of DLC, Tracy Marsh, so regular visitors will be pleased to see a well-known face still looking after the day-to-day running of the site.

Jack joins as Sales Manager, so will soon be a well-known face to all new members, as he will be welcoming them aboard when they sign up to join Dover Leisure Centre. For any existing members who would like to pop in to discuss their current membership, Jack is also the man to see.

One of the most exciting new faces to the centre is Nicole who will be heading up the centre’s swim team. Dover Leisure Centre offers a variety of swimming lessons for all age groups and levels and, with Nicole’s guidance, the swimming team will be able to help more of the community learn to swim. A keen swimmer herself, you may well find Nicole in the pool when she finishes her day’s work!

Equally exciting is the recruitment of Stewart who is to be the site’s very own Fitness Manager. He will be introducing Personal Training sessions, additional classes and will be leading the team of other fitness specialists. Stewart has worked in many health and leisure centres during his career and his expertise will be an asset to the centre.

Places for People Leisure Area Manager, Steve Warriner, said: “It’s a massively exciting time for the centre and Places Leisure. We were delighted to be awarded the contract and knowing that in under a year we will be opening the doors to a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility means it’s all hands on deck, which is why we added to an already great team as soon as possible. Dover District Council has invested a massive amount of money into the new site. It will include Kent’s only eight-lane, 25-metre county standard competition swimming pool, two outdoor 3G five-a-side football pitches and the fitness facilities will include a 120-station gym. There will also be a clip and climb wall, café and an array of other superb facilities. It’s going to be amazing. These new recruits will be instrumental in supporting the existing team as we get ready to move in the coming months.”
